10 Artists Exhibition

Coromandel Peninsula | Sat January 27, 2018

11 OF 13. This is the caption text

Anniversary Weekend is serving Coromandel residents and visitors a rich display of the visual arts with the inaugural 10 Artists Exhibition at the Kuaotunu Hall, from 8 am to 7 pm each day from the 27th – 29th of January.

The 10 Artists Exhibition will feature 10 diverse artists who live, work or holiday in and around Kuaotunu.  It will be a celebration of the creative arts in the Eastern corner of the Coromandel with visual artistry from a wide variety of mediums, from photography to painting, sculpture, carving and more.

The 10 artists on display all have a strong connection to Kuaotunu, and range from experienced exhibitors like Claire Elliot, with her mixed media paintings of local land and seascapes, to fledgling exhibitor Roimata Taimana whose outstanding ink drawings evolve organically as he creates them.   Also exhibiting will be flax weaver, Lizzy Leckie, who will be running interactive art sessions during the exhibition.

Other artists on display will be; photomontage artist, Lutz Gaebler; carver and artist, Chris Charteris; visual artist, Colin Verner; mixed-Media artist, Marc Bonamie;  paper engineer, Phillip Fickling; and photographers, Felicity Witters and Ian Preece.

The 10 Artists Exhibition will be a great opportunity to get up close and personal with some of our best visual artists who will also be selling their works.  Admission is free.
