Fishing Report - Issue 908

Several Mercury Bay Game Fishing Club members made the journey south to Waihou Bay last weekend in search of southern bluefin tuna. They aren’t returning empty handed. Congratulations to Nicholas McEntee and Norm Smyth, fishing off Cova Rose, and Rata Denton, fishing off Whitiangler, on catching some very good fish.

Also congratulations to MBGFC member, Captain Austin Border, and the team Foot n’ Half team (fishing out of San Diego, California)  on the 196.2lb (88.995kg) bluefin tuna they caught in the California Tuna Challenge on Saturday last week. To their disappointment, they lost out on USD135,000 by only 1lb.
