Yes, there should be a ban on mining. There is plenty of Gold stored in vaults to supply the high tech industry so we do not need more of the metal. And as a representation of "value" to prop up currencies, digital currencies such as Bit Coin and the Block Chain technology offer nontoxic alternatives that are much more democratic and safe from theft and tampering than a physical value store. Don't MINE the land that is OURS. Mine Bitcoins to your heart's content!
