10 artists exhibition

Labour Weekend 2022 in the Mercury Bay promises to be full of inspiring art, sculpture, print and design with two fantastic exhibitions in the offering celebrating the strong creative communities on both sides of our Bay.

10 Artists Exhibition

The 10 ArtistsExhibition in Kuoatunu, which was postponed from January due to Covid, will feature 10 diverse artists who live, work or holiday in and around Kuaotunu and will celebrate the strong representation in this close-knit Coromandel community, of visual artistry from a wide variety of mediums, from photography to painting and drawing, sculpture, woodworks and more. The 10 artists on display are all somehow connected to Kuaotunu, and range from very experienced exhibitors like Claire Elliot, with her iconic mixed media paintings of local coastline and seascapes to design and woodwork on hand selected woods by Dave Bryant. A new guest artist for 2022 will be Annemeike Kregting who we all know and value from her amazing work with the Kuoatunu Bird Rescue. Over the years Annemeike has also become known for her wonderful mosaics honouring beautiful avian creatures that she works so hard to nurse back to health.

Other artists include sculptor, Chris Charteris, paper artist Phillip Fickling, ceramic and sculpture artist, Lutz Gaebler, multimedia artist, Peter Matai Johnston, weaver, Lizzy Leckie, photographer and organiser, Ian Preece, ink drawings by Roimata Taimana, and sculptural and design works by Colin Verner.

10 Artists runs in the Kuaotunu Hall from Saturday 21, of October through Monday, 24 October from 10:00am to 4:00pm. Admission is free
