Come to Coromandel Town
Coromandel Open Studios Arts Tour - Sat/Sun 7/8 and 14/15 Oct

Is an adventure through the creative spaces and places of wood carvers and makers of handmade wooden furniture, ceramicists and sculptors, textile artists and weavers, screen printers, painters – watercolour, acrylic, oils, pastels; jewellers; photographers. It is also an adventure in travel because every bend of the journey you take to get to Coromandel town from any direction mean inspiring views.
There are 34 artists, all part of the Coromandel Open Studios Arts Tour opening this coming weekend, 7-8 October, and also for the weekend of 14 and 15 October.
The tour is self-guided. You can do parts of it or all of it- you can drive, walk or cycle. The time the studios are open are 10.00am to 4.00pm.
The studios can be toured in geographical groupings for example Top Town - there are at least five of the artists in Driving creek Road. In Central at one location - Gallery 6 - there are five artists.
This huge and excellent high-value community project, similar to the Art Escape held on the eastern side of Coromandel Peninsula in March, is made possible by the sponsorship of local businesses as well as the generous support of Thames Coromandel District Council and Creative New Zealand.
