Fishing Tournament and a great cause from PlaceMakers.
By Melissa Ford and Val Paterson.

Mercury Bay Club hosted the prizegiving for the PlaceMakers great annual fishing tournament last Saturday night, 25 March. Excellent and hearty meals, lots of beer and cheer plus phenomenal prizes were the mainstay of the evening.
The Club was crowded. Anglers had travelled from all over the Waikato for this two-day tournament in perfect weather conditions. There was much excitement and anticipation particularly with the display of prizes filling the stage area to the ceiling. An Explorer Drifter Go-Kart arraigned at the entrance to the club was the prize for the public raffle.
A total of 81 boats and 333 anglers had come from all over the Waikato to participate as every PlaceMakers had their teams entering as well as many of the companies who are clients of PlaceMakers
Warren Male compèred the night announcing the prizes and being a rousing auctioneer.
There were 3x Auctions and 2x Raffles which raised over $3,550.00 these funds went towards the New Zealand Breast Cancer.
