Garden Ramble offers excellent variety
By Barb Nippert.

Whitianga’s Garden Ramble will inspire and delight those lucky enough to purchase tickets to view the 15 gardens “Through the Garden Gate” on the Saturday, 4 and Sunday, 5 November.
Rain or shine, come and spend the day when the beautiful gardens will be at their best for you to enjoy.
The gardens have been chosen for their variety, imagination, and ease of location; from the luscious tropical oasis garden with the feel of being on a Pacific Island to an inspired Japanese garden with floating pads, stepping stones, and water features.
As you ramble you will come across a garden with an artistic landscape, where you will be able to meander through the stone pathways and view original garden sculptures.
Some gardens are compact and reflect the gardener's love of flowers, colour, and texture, while others are an acre or more with trees that invite bird life, and others have been designed to include fun for the children.
If you love quirky gardens, you will find them as you ramble, as well as several stunning formal gardens with topiaries and clipped Buxus.
There are many garden surprises to discover along the way that have all been created with the love, care, and hard work of the keen garden owners.
This event has been organised by Mercury Bay Lions to raise funds for Project Mammogram. By participating, you will be rewarded with the beauty and inspiration of our local garden owners, and 100% of your ticket and produce purchases will go toward this much-needed 3D mammogram scanner.
