Halloween Headquarters - The Museum

Halloween Headquarters - The Museum

“It was such fun” says Jo who went through a second time with her eldest daughter, Lexi, for the whanau-friendly Halloween journey through Mercury Bay Museum on Friday night. Meanwhile, Dad took little Veida out into the mild evening, as she was a little frightened, but not enough to want to go home. This as the early session from 5.30pm to 7.00pm. Congratulations to Rebecca and her team. It was very popular and from the detail in over a dozen ‘gruesome’ scenes, and the interactive exhibits with live ‘monsters and ‘ghouls’, it was easily seen this was a very clever exhibit and a huge amount of work, totally appreciated by the families in the community.

The Museum After Dark for the 15 plus, also on Friday night, was equally popular. The Informer did not venture in (was strictly no torches), but listened to the blood curdling screams and waited for the teens to come running out at the exit. One 17-year-old said, “I was a bit scared.”

On Monday for Halloween, the Museum was a part of the Trick or Treat Trail around the Whitianga township 3.30 - 6.00pm, organised by Jess Corkill of the Mercury Bay Library.
