HAMR helps promote Mercury Bay businesses for KidsCan fundraiser.

HAMR Hone Building Contractors are a solid part of Mercury Bay community located in Campbell Street, Whitianga. We write about their generous involvement last year in helping sustain a school in Zambia, Africa Richard is Branch Chair of Coromandel Master Builders. They have been organising an Auction package for the Auckland (Auckland, Northland and Coromandel) Master Builders charity auction to raise money for KidsCan. Richard and Hannah started off with thinking they could do a “Coromandel goodness package” but with the help of Clare from the Mercury Bay Business Association, they ended up with the “Mercury Bay is open for business luxury package” to put the word out at a high-profile event that we are still here and not wiped off the map!

This was the package:

Two nights’ accommodation at sovereign pier (1 donated by Sovereign Pier, 1 x donated by HAMR); 2 x adult tickets for cathedral cove tour; Dinner for two at Salt Restaurant; Voucher for Marina Bay Eatery; Cathedral Cove Chocolate. Macadamias,

Bottle of local brewed “Old Mate” Gin; Packets of Coffee Lala and chocolate; Opito Bay Sea Salt – (donated by HAMR); Castle Rock salad dressing – (donated by HAMR); Cans of beer from Coromandel brewery – (donated by HAMR); Local 309 Honey; 2 x The Lost Spring - 4-hour swim vouchers; Bottle of wine from Whiti Fine Ales and Spirits.

Hannah and Warwick headed to Auckland last Thursday to the auction, and to present the package to the auction winner.

“In their words, this is how it went: “The Mercury Bay package we arranged sold at Auction for $2000. We worked it out to have a retail value of around $1600 so a really awesome result.

Overall, the night raised $34,480.00 which goes directly to Kidscan. This will support 95 children in school lunches, shoes and warm clothing for a year so once again a really awesome result!!
