Having a ball

Finally - it’s that time of year again. After three years it was time to party!
After not having been able to hold the ball for the last three years, due to COVID, senior students from Mercury Bay Area School attended their annual ball at the Flight Club ballroom on Saturday night. Saturday night was clearly the event of the year for many of the students, who all turned out in their best outfi ts for the occasion. Alongside the 144 MBAS seniors, and some partners, the head students from Thames, Paeroa and Whangamata colleges were also invited along.
The organisation of the ball was actually student-led eff ort, headed by Harper Sanders, who MBAS staff say did an incredible job of liaising with businesses, college administration and the students themselves to make the ball the success that it was. A DJ kept the audience on their feet and moving all night. The glamour and ceremony of the occasion were highlighted with the
appointment of the School’s own royal family. A Prince and Princess, King and Queen were all crowned on the night.
