Hilarious local dramas

By Pam Ferla

Have you ever watched a hilarious bunch of surfers on the stage, or a grandad rapper, or a cast of would-be actors rehearsing a play?

All of these feature in a night of three one-act comedies in the latest productions from Tairua Heritage Players.

These premier performances will be at Tairua Bowling Club on Wednesday 8, Thursday 9 and Saturday 11 November.

First play is “The Seventh Step”, by Pam Ferla. This is followed by “Board Rider Beauties”, by Alison Smith. Rounding off the evening is “What Else Could Go Wrong”, by Auriol Farquhar. Each play is directed by the author.

Production organiser, Auriol, says the event is an exciting new experience, with two new writers bringing fun and laughter to a community in need of a good night’s entertainment.

Any proceeds will go towards Tairua Heritage Centre.

Tickets are $16 and include light supper. Call at Tairua Information Centre or phone the centre,

07 864 7575, to purchase tickets.
