Home Brew Club Annual Awards

It was a wonderful afternoon at the Mercury Bay Bowling Club for all the home brewers in the Mercury Bay Area. Twenty-eight entries were received for the beer section. The criteria for judging is basically taste and appearance (this includes smell). the judges each get a small cup of every beer – interchanging with a glass of water. They have a break in teen each group of tastings. This is the 44th year of the Home Brewing Competition” says Neil who has been in the President’s role for about six years. “Thinking about our one-point loss in the Rugby World Cup, it wasn’t all bad having the home brew tasting this weekend.”
