July 4th coming early at Gracies.

Yes! July 4 USA celebrations will be on Saturday, 1 July at Grace O’Malley’s.

“We invite the whole of Mercury Bay to don their red, white and blue and stars and stripes and make it a massive American party experience,” says Peter Jones, owner of Grace O’Malley’s.

“The Irish were big players in early USA and they still are,” says Peter. Even if they weren’t, the Irish would still love a celebration and we are an Irish inn.”

This Saturday, the bunting, lights and the flags will be out there, and the menu will feature Yankee favourites.

From the time Grace O’Malley’s opens on Saturday at 12.00pm, there will be American Hot Dogs and apple pie and ice cream as well as short ribs on the menu. From 3.00pm the American Muscle Street and Custom Club will be parking their special yankee cars outside Gracie’s and along the Esplanade. At 5.00pm Phil Hart will be taking the stage - outdoors if the weather is clear and indoors if it’s a wet July 4th.

Grace O’Malley’s can cater for the big crowds - 70 inside the main dining and bar area; 150 out on the deck; and in the rear dining area, another 50. There’s plenty of room for Uncle Sam this Saturday, 1 July - make it a Yankee Doodle Saturday!
