Menz Shed at work for cancer support.

These men are working very hard to repair and then move a rather unusually complex and large cupboard. It is a storage cupboard for mattresses which are needed for the Mercury Bay Cancer Support palliative care services.

This storage area behind the Toy Library and behind the cancer Support Bookshop is a good place for the storage of their equipment. This team from the Menz Shed worked very successfully to enable tall of this work to be completed. They are a mix of retired engineers, builders, accountants, corporate office managers and farmers. All of them have a big heart for service and skills that make the work possible.

From left to right: Don Jesson, Ken McDougall, Fred Collins, Ron Aylan-Parker, Phil Rule, Ernie Pitchfork. The Menz Shed is open on Tuesdays and Thursday on South Highway from 9.00am to 12noon. Look for the red shed on South Highway just past BP diesel stop.
