Morse Code Challenge at Mercury Bay Museum
Welcome Summer! What amazing weather we have had but I suspect as you are reading this there maybe rain on the roof - a great time to come and visit the Museum.
Over the month of January, we are running a new holiday activity – ‘Summer Essentials - Morse Code Challenge’. We have hidden our summer essentials i.e. sunglasses, hat, beach towel around the museum with a code attached – you just have to decode the letters and work out the summer phrase! Easy!! As always, a prize is given to those who are clever enough to work it out.
For the slightly younger at heart, we have a summer Eye Spy – just find the summer objects and tick them off. Don’t forget Joe and his dinosaur friends are also out and about in the Museum. Let us know if you catch them hiding somewhere they shouldn’t be and claim your reward!
From Monday 2 January to Monday 6 February, we will be open 7 days a week from 10am to 4pm (last admission 3:15pm). Our giftshop is stocked with a variety of souvenirs including our amazing new t-shirts and hats from Zeek and Co. Just what you need for summer!
We need you! Have you been thinking about volunteering in your local community? We have a few positions available on front of house and within the collection team. No experience needed just be willing to learn and have a great time while hosting our visitors to the Museum. Want to know more? Come in and have a chat to us or give us a call.
Keep an eye on our social media too - Facebook and Instagram. We are always posting on what we are up too in the Museum.
See you all soon
