GENERAL: Monday 10th July to Sunday 16th July 2023.
Tuesday, 11 July a Fraudulent matter was reported as having occurred with the victim losing a sum of money. Everyone is reminded to be careful of purchasing items over the internet due to the high risk of fraudsters attempting to scam unsuspecting people.
Thursday, 13 July a vehicle was vandalised whilst parked on Mill Road during the Night Markets. The owners returned to find that their vehicle had been keyed.
Friday, 14 July a male breached his trespass notice at Countdown Supermarket. He has been spoken to regarding the matter.
Overnight of Friday, 14 July, two distinctive mountain bikes were stolen from a Cooks Beach address. If anyone has any information, please ring 105.
Saturday, 15 July a burglary was reported as occurring at a Catherine Crescent address where gumboots were stolen.
ARRESTS:
1x male arrested for Breaching his bail conditions.
OCCURRENCES:
Monday, 10 July a Family Harm matter occurred at a Mill Road address. The female was removed from the property and issued with a Police Safety Order.
TRAFFIC:
Wednesday, 12 July a forbidden driver was stopped and had their vehicle impounded.
If you are unlicensed, please do not drive. If you require assistance in obtaining a driver licence, there are local outside agencies happy to assist.
Some tickets issued for speeding around our streets this week. Please remember to comply with all speed restrictions, especially temporaries. These are in place for your and our safety, and especially road workers. We all want to make it home safe.
GENERAL: Monday 17th July to Sunday 23rd July 2023.
Monday, 17 July a large quantity of diesel was stolen from a work site on South Highway.
Friday, 21 July a vehicle registration plate was reported as stolen.
Sunday, 23 July a Disorderly Behaviour incident occurred at a South Highway address. The offending party was removed from the address by an associate.
ARRESTS:
1 x male arrested and charged for Possession of a weapon and Assaults Police.
OCCURRENCES:
Monday, 17 July a verbal argument occurred between a separating couple on Moewai Park Road. Police assisted with keeping the peace while items were removed from the property.
Tuesday, 18 July an argument occurred at a Moewai Park Road address. Both parties were separated upon police arrival. Later that day the male had returned to the address and was subsequently arrested for Possession of an Offensive Weapon. During the transport back to the station he attacked both officers in the vehicle. He is now facing further charges in court.
Thursday, 20July an argument occurred on Old Coach Road after an agitated male began making threats to another party, Police were called and spoke with both parties. A Police Safety Order was issued to the male.
Sunday, 23 July a family harm matter occurred in Matarangi between intoxicated party goers. All parties were separated upon police arrival with the offending male transported through to Thames.
TRAFFIC:
Monday, 17July a traffic complaint was made regarding a vehicle failing to stay within its lanes while driving around the Coast Road into Whitianga. The owner of the vehicle will be spoken to regarding his driving behaviour.
Police are focusing on Restraints, Impairment, Distractions and Speed the next few months.
