Week of Monday, 11 September to Sunday, 17 September
General:
Monday, 11 September, a burglary was reported to having occurred overnight at a Matarangi Drive address. Multiple machines had diesel siphoned with a fuel trailer stolen.
Also, on Monday, 11 September, a registration plate was stolen from a parked vehicle on Owen Street.
Burglary - Tuesday, 12 September: This was reported occurring overnight at a building site where a large length of electrical cabling was stolen.
Shoplifting - Wednesday, 13 September: This occurred at The Warehouse Ltd. A female suspect has been spoken to about the matter.
Vehicle scam - Wednesday, 13 September: A vehicle was listed for sale on Marketplace. This may turn out to be a scam as nil further interaction with the seller, after payment made. Please, always check authenticity of any purchasing online as there are too many scammers out there trying to relieve you of your money.
Shoplifting - Friday, 15 September This incident occurred at a liquor store on Lee Street. An expensive bottle was stolen by a known person. They will be appearing in court for Theft.
Arrests:
1x male arrested for Warrants.
Occurrences:
Breach of Protection order - Friday, 15 September: This was reported occurring at a Whitby Ave address. Enquiries are continuing regarding various allegations being made during the incident.
Family Violence - Friday, 15 September: This matter occurred at a Pipi Dune address. Both parties were spoken to regarding the matter and given some helpful advice.
Traffic:
Friday, 15 September, a traffic complaint was made regarding a driver potentially driving while distracted. The vehicle was observed veering across the road and narrowly avoiding another vehicle travelling in the opposite direction. Using a phone while driving carries a $150 fine and 20 demerit points. Is that call really that important? No!!
Sunday, 17 September, a driver was stopped for speeding along Buffalo Beach Road. Their alcohol breath limit was above the applicable limit, and they will appear in court later.
Police are focusing on Restraints, Impairment, Distractions and Speed the next few months.
