Seafood tournament success

Below is a revised report of our recent Seafood tournament which you can publish in The Informer if you wish.

Mercury Bay Bowling Club held their annual seafood tournament over the weekend of 27 and 28 August with 32 teams of 4 that had come from many North Island bowling clubs. Trevor Knight, club President, said we were fortunate with the weather over the weekend which helped make the tournament a success. This tournament was sponsored by OPC and Moana fisheries for which the club is extremely grateful. Whilst this has been an annual tournament for many years Trevor said we missed both 2020 and 2021 due to covid. The event is a good funds earner for our club so it was a relief to finally get it played this year.

The club executive members are now busy planning a "have a go at lawn bowls day" which is scheduled for Sunday 16th October and which will be advertised in The Informer shortly so if interested "Watch this space".
