Something completely different for Photographic Club’s themed challenge for April

The members of the Whitianga Photographic Club wanted to try something completely different for their themed challenge for April and decided on a magazine cover or page.
“With a great eye-catching layout, attention to detail and a fun 'hola' theme, Lia Priemus’ ‘Saturday Post' featuring model Jas Luff was the standout winner,” says Kate Beauchamp, one of the club administrators.
Second place went to Anita Ruggle-Lussy and Rose Barrett’s entry finished third.
The club’s Photo of the Month challenge for April was won by Wendy Pemberton with a subtle horse portrait she called “Irish in the Mist”. “Wendy grabbed the opportunity when she saw the horse on a foggy morning,” says Kate.
Lia Premus’ entry came second and Karen Moffatt-McLeod took out third spot.
The club’s May challenge is “Catchlights”. “A catchlight is simply the reflection of light in the subject's eyes,” says Kate. “This highlight adds depth and dimension to the eyes and without them they tend to look flat and dull.”
Anyone who would like to see more of the Whitianga Photographic Club’s work and learn more about the club members’ achievements, can visit their public Facebook page. “We also welcome keen photographers to join us, just email our administration team at whitiangaphoto@gmail.com,” says Kate.
